Safety has been the priority since Day One. Every participating vessel submits to a voluntary safety inspection coordinated with and conducted by Florida FWC. Every crew member, mate included, is a USCG licensed captain, requiring extensive Dept. of Homeland Security and FBI background checks and fingerprinting, First Aid/CPR training, random drug testing, and physicals.

In keeping with our vision of a "family atmosphere", all crew are personally vetted by Capt. Mike make sure your kids are under the care and guidance of professional, responsible, and like-minded individuals.

All of our captains are fathers and family men! As such, we understand the concerns of parents, especially first-time participants, who may not know what to expect. Every day, we discuss the weather and sea conditions. Fortunately, summertime generally affords us light winds and calm seas but, on occasion, if we determine that the conditions are unsafe, uncomfortable, or unfavorable, we work in protected areas or simply cancel a day. Bottom line: We will NEVER put your children in harm's way!

Since all of our participating vessels are working charter boats, the crews already understand the importance of safety protocols. As part of our own protocols, we regularly review items such as restricted areas of the vessel, no children are allowed in towers or on the bow, fitting of life jackets, location, and use of safety equipment, proper storage of food & food allergy considerations, mandatory seating for children while the vessel is underway, and safe handling of fishing gear and fish.

The child must be at least 7 years old.

No. In fact, it is our great pleasure to introduce kids to their first fishing experiences!

No. We teach basics AND advanced rigging and fishing skills.

No. Leave your rod and reel at home. We have a full range of professional fishing equipment available for their use.

Fortunately, the summer provides us with generally calm seas and fair weather. However, in the event of inclement weather, we will either fish in protected areas or cancel a day's activities. We stay in constant communication with parents about forecasts and changes. Rest Assured: We will NEVER put your children in harm's way.

Yes! Upon our return each day, the edible catch, which we will clean, bag, and ice for you, is shared among each team. We try to send home dinner for a family of 4 each day. Please do not ask the crew to feed your neighbors or extended relatives. The remaining catch is shared among the crew and often sent to local homeless shelters.

While this is something we cannot control, it is fairly uncommon. Our boats are large and stable. If your child has a history of motion sickness or if you are not certain, there are a few over-the-counter options like Dramamine, Bonine, or Tryptone, that have a version made for children. You should consult with your pediatrician before deciding on any medication. We cannot administer medication of ANY KIND without written, signed parental consent and explicit instructions.

In the event, we have to cancel activities, the following applies:

If any days are canceled within a session due to inclement weather as defined below, the participant will be offered a prorated refund of $100/day or a make-up day at a later date. In the event of a cancellation due to a named tropical system, the participant will be issued a refund of $200/day or offered a make-up day. Make-up days will be made available up to 3 months after the last day of summer camp. Camper cancellations or no-shows forfeit the day of camp with no make-up or refund.

Inclement weather is defined as:

• Heavy widespread rain
• Thunderstorms/lightning
• Winds in excess of 20 knots (depending on wind direction, a possibility of fishing in sheltered areas)
